Paleo – For maximum Paleo result just brew this with water and hibiscus flowers 🌺 and any of the optional ingredients.  You shouldn’t add any type of sugar or vanilla extract.  Instead of the vanilla extract, you can buy the sugar free syrups that people put into their coffee, but to me, that’s more processed and chemical-based than the organic vanilla extract. 🤷‍♀️ Your choice.

FODMAP – No issues ✅

Macros – You need to account for the sugar if you add it. ❤️‍🩹

Servings & Steps

Servings – 2
Ingredients – (conversion amounts)
– 3 cups of water
– ½ cup of dried hibiscus flowers
– 2 to 4 tablespoons of coconut sugar. Start with 2 and add as needed for your preference.
– Very little bit of vanilla extract, just enough to taste it
– Optional add ins are fresh mint, freshly grated ginger or orange peel.  Add each of these to your taste preference.

Steps –
1-using a small saucepan, add the water, flowers and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Bring it to a simmer while gently stirring it.
2-add any optional ingredients for more flavors and let it steep (sit) for 10 minutes.
3-using a strainer, pour the tea through it. Add a few drops of vanilla and serve hot or over ice.

Helpful hints – Play the optional ingredients to find that “sweet spot” for you and this can be your “cocktail” instead of alcohol or your dessert.  Use a martini glass! 🍸😜 You can serve this hot or cold!
